This is Bangkok. . . . we left Siem Reap for here about a week ago, stayed for one day, and then headed north to Sukothai. . . . Bangkok is a big city and a bit overwhelming, but not lacking in character. It has a certain Las Vegas type quality to it that I can't quite put my finger on. . . . Its a stay up all night, sleep all day, anything goes kind of place. Lots of neon lights, drugs and hookers available at every turn, drunken backpackers falling all over the place, people standing outside of bars holding signs that read "Very strong cocktail. We don't check ID card!" Every corner had someone selling fake American and European drivers licenses, ID cards and college degrees. It was worth taking a look at but Lisa and i didn't see any reason to linger. . . . if only I had discovered Bangkok ten years ago.

This is Sukothai, about half way between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. . . . more ruins. Sukothai was nice, but after visiting Angkor, it just wasn't the same as it might have otherwise been.
Lately its been all trains
